If 'short scale' is anything less than 34", then it's the Ric 4001. I also played a Fender Musicmaster in my youth that I really enjoyed, although back then I couldn't've told you what scale it was.

"Short Scale" is typically defined as 30"... That SD Curlee is 32" I believe and would be a medium scale, but hey, I'm picking nits! Here's my '78 Musicmaster, definitely my fave!

    The EB-0 is my favorite.

But, the Ric 4003 is full scale, 20 frets but full size neck.. Just huge arse frets. And, the EB-3 is full scale too :).

  6. Planning on buying this in the near future to fill the hole in my life that is short scale...

Actually Ric is 33.25 inches, long scale is 34 inches. So it is longer than a medium scale, but not as long as a long scale.

    I'm jellous
I don't know it has the USA Humbucker and the USA Mini-HB and the 4 nobs plus the extra black one.

I may be wrong but the page says it is.:)

  12. yea, the EB-3 you posted was the regular cheap production model, This is the elitest...it's around $1000 new, the cheaper model has cheaper pickups and is long (34") scale and is only about $400 or so...

  14. The Mighty Midget has my vote...though I once owned a Mustang, I forget the year.

My main axe at present is 35" in scale...short scale basses throw my equilibrium off anymore.

My mistake. But 33.25 is pretty damn close to long scale :p.

My favorite short scale is my self built one, it has a danelectro 24 fret neck, Dimarzio alchemy pickup, honduran mahogany body with a highly figured maple top (the picture doesn't do it justice.)

thank you sir! it's been fun putting together bits far! dunno if you can tell from the pic, but it's fretless. Pondering the next mod (gotta keep distracting myself before I attack the gibson), thoughs so far are a fancy pickguard, a second single coil at the next, or a jazz neck pickup cover...

any good plans for your beast I can steal:)
