+1. I love Flaco's work with Freddy Fender in Texas Tornados. Actually appears to be Flaco and one other accordian/concertina in this video. A rare two-fer.

I'll give you a round-about tie-in.

Bass players love Ampeg. C. Everett Hull, Ampeg's founder, hated rock, and was convinced that guitar music was going to fade from favor and that accordion would make a big comeback. He decreed that all Ampeg guitar amps were required to also have an accordion input. And so it was, until Hull sold the controlling interest in Ampeg to Uni Music. Ampeg even made accordion-specific pickups.

I'm no connoisseur of the noble squeeze box but I really like what Michael Guerra who plays with the Mavericks does. Really tasteful playing and in some songs he really makes the tune.

I had a good time playing for about 6 months in an acoustic trio of Doublebass, Violin, Accordion called KYIV. Broke up when the Accordionist had to go away to residency but we had fun (usually opening for rock bands) and recorded a darn good EP before we split. You can hear it here free:
