YOUR favorite rock/slap bass?
Rick 4001 or 4003. They've got a sweet tone. Other than that, anything with beefy, growly soapbar pickups and 24 frets (tobias's, Aria Pro-2, ESP's, Warwicks, ect...)
how about the stingray 4 string?
Good ol´ Fender Jazz. Number one choice for rock/slap.
is there some ultimate site with all bass guitar recordings?
streamer stage II
Same for me. Very close against the Fender Jazz.
My Roscoe smokes both of these in the Rock dept. IMO, but i don't dig it for slap
Yup, I'm with you on that man.
Easily my Warwick Corvette Standard. I get great authoritative slap for funk, metal, and funk-metal. I get metal snarls when I dig in, and rich pillowy tone when I use a lighter touch.
For rock, slap, and everything in between, my 'Vette is the holy grail. IMO, there is nothing this bass can't do.
Roscoe LG 3005, period.
Ive never had the pleasure of owning more than one bass at a time so what ever bass I have is what I have to make do with. Ive always tried to make sure when I pick a bass it works well with the different styles of music I do.
I have 3 different Jazz 5 strings (Sadowsky, esh, Lakland). They all are awesome for finger, pick and slaps. Hey, I am a J guy
Ah yes, how could I forget. I love the jazz slap tone as well. Marcus Milllers tone is one of my favorites. A sadowsky would be a lovely thing to have.
I find Jazz being great, Music Man is famous for its slap too, the big pickup on it is well suited for that thing.
