Your favorite Rush song

Discussion in 'Recordings [BG]' started by TheJazzBassist, May 17, 2002.

  1. What is everyone's favorite Rush song?

Mine has always been Subdivisions. I know it has alot of synth, but the whole song is absolutely powerful...the rhythm, the lyrics, I just knew the first time I heard it that it'd be my fav Rush song. It really surprised me when I learned that Neil Peart wrote the lyrics to it, cause most drummers don't bother with lyrics...and yes I know many disagree with me, therefore tell me your favorite and why you like it so much.

PS: There was a time, 3 years ago actually, when I'd never even heard Rush, and I thought Geddy Lee was a woman with that voice of his. :D
Has anyone else ever made that mistake?
  2. Very hard choose between :

    1. La Villa Strangiato
    2. XYZ
    3. Tom Sawyer
    4. Red Barchetta
    5. Between The Wheels
    6. Bravado
    7. Nocturne

All differtent Rush Stages, seems impossible to vote a number 1 for me ...

Same here. Being my all time favorite rock band, it's just too tough to pick one favorite.

Some notables that come to mind are:

    Natural Science
    Red Barchetta
    Vital Signs
    Ghost of a Chance
    Leave That Thing Alone
    Hemispheres - whole album

I'm reasonably sure the new album has a few favorites in there. I'm digging a lot of those tunes.
