For me i would say STII Wrath of Khan and ST VI The Undiscovered Country are my personal favorites but i do very much like the other ones these just stick out for me a littel more.I only found out the the insperation for ST VI is the fall of the Soviet Union and need for peace and relations between the 2 supper powers. Most would think because of my background i would like ST V the Final Frontier but i really think it stinks by far the worst Star Trek film. What are your favorites?.

  2. the even #'d ones. But Wrath of Kahn is the best, hands down. First Contact is a close second. Undiscovered Country is third.

I would also say ST III The Search for Spock is up high on my list.

  4. I'll never forgive them (Klingons) for the death of my boy.

    Best. Star. Trek. Movie. Evar.

Josh, you're one post away from 7K! :hyper:

Naming conventions for the Star Trek movies I remember:

    Star Trek(I): The Motionless Picture
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Star Trek III: The Search for More Money
Star Trek IV: The Search for Greenpeace
Star Trek V: The Quest for God
Star Trek VI: ... (Can't remember now)
    Star Trek VII: Last Contract

I think First Contact is far and away the best one.

If I had a nickel for every time for every time I've said that and recieved a room full of stares in return, I'd have close to a dollar.

  8. Numbers 1 and 3 are by far the best ones in the series, IMO.

Generations wasn't that bad. It just felt like an overblown episode of TNG and an excuse to put Picard and Kirk together in a movie.

My favorites are Wrath of Kahn and First Contact.

Oh. And in somewhat related news to those who may not know. Shatner's new album "Has Been" has officially claimed my soul. It's awesome.

TWOK by far. Save the Whales is very good, and Undiscovered Country is right behind it.

Wrath of Khan was the best IMO, followed by VI - Undiscovered Country. Search for Spock was pretty good too. :)

In The Motion Picture(w/ V-Ger), there was that scene where Ms. India & the 1st Officer meet after some time apart(you hear their thoughts, yaddayadda).

In TNG's pilot epi, "Encounter At Far Point"...the same damn thing happens when Riker & Deanna meet after their time apart. LAME-O!

Speaking of TNG, I think the series ender (the two parter where Picard is constantly whisked between 3 different periods of time at Q's whim so he can head all ships into the neutral zone to destroy something (forget what it was) that was going to keep life from ever evolving on Earth) was probably better than half of the Star Trek movies that came to the big screen.
