Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Cliff W, Mar 14, 2003.

  1. Guys, tell me wahts your favorite amp-companie?

I like Hughes & Kettner and Warwick

(I m sorry for my bad english, I'm german, but who cares?)

  2. My favourite amp company is Trace Elliot - who sadly no longer exist (unless Gibson decide to bring them back in some form)

By the way, your English is better than my German!

Ich finde SWR amps der beste(?)

see...with the exception of a missing apostrophy and an ie instead of a y, your english is spot on. whereas i'm sure i butchered every article and gender i possibly could have in those 6 words

so no worries about your english, man.
  9. It might be my otherwise weak sense of pride towards my vaterland speaking, but I do like the sounds that comes out of EBS' gear.
On the other hand, when it comes to brand names, Glockenklang rules supreme.

This is really no different from a "What's the Best Amp???" thread.....is it???

Still, I'll give it a go - Aguilar sets my soul on fire! They sound like a serial killer in an Armani suit, to me.

But I've played through SWR's that sounded great and vintage Ampeg SVT's that kill.

Well, no. He has actually phrased the question properly. I mean: I always get annoyed by the "Best?" threads. There's no such thing as "best"**, there's only "what's best for me", which is pretty much the same thing as "favorite".

**This rule does not apply if your handle starts with "Munji" and ends with "bunga".

oooohhhh! You're dead-on, Fuzz!!! Can I have two guesses at what that might be???

    1. Eden WT 800???

    2. Eden WT 1000???

(You know, someday he's going to mess with us and say "Peavey")

I'm digging my Ashdown gear right now... Check back next year, and I might have a different answer (or not.)

  19. Used to be Trace Elliot (still is really...RIP..sniff...sniff...:bawl: ) but now I run an Ashdown, though I might change that in the next couple of years.

Apart from that, I spose SWR is other favourite.

Never liked Ampeg gear at all...:bag:
