Your ideal bass collection

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by PanteraFan, May 17, 2001.

  1. I was just wondering what your ideal collection of basses would be. No amps, I'm afraid. Here's my list:

    Spector NS2000/5 Holoflash
    Spector NS4 20th Anniversary Edition(Purple)
G&L ASAT Blueburst( Do these come in 5-string?)
    Ibanez BTB405QMTB
    Warwick SS1 5-string
    Warwick Infinity(Birdseye maple top)
    MusicMan Stingray 4
    ESP B305 in Vintage Sunburst

There's 8 basses. My ideal collection. I haven't listed any customs cos I'll never be able to afford that.
  2. Mine would be:

    1) Epi Jack Casady (hey, I've already got one)
    2) A really good solid body. Musicman, a Mia Jazz
    3) A real acoustic bass (Ovation, Azola, etc.)
    4) A really good fretless. I have a MIM Fender
Jazz, but, that humming is making me think
of selling it. I might do what I was originally
going to do with my Casady. Buy a second
    Casady and de-fret it.

    5) And #5 is appropriately reserved for:
    A decent 5 string. Preferably non-active.

Those are my wishes. Make it so!

    Mike J.
  3. Modulus Quantam 5
    Schecter Scorpion
    ESP B-1
    Warwick Thumb
    Ibanez BTB4000
    Spector NS-5
Carl Thompson Fretless 6 (for Primus and soloing)

Basically all "metal" basses cuz that's what I play. The 4's would be tuned BEAD of course.
  4. ok, i'll start with my G&L climax cause it's light, it is versitile, and it's gold sparkle. it's my work horse.
then i'd add a clean ovation magnum in sunburst, i like all the features, the vintage vibe, and the range of tones from that honking humbucker and single coil configuration. then i'd throw in an american p bass cause there is only one way to get that sound. then for a fiver i think i'd go with a cort cubow because they get great sound and it's cool to have a cheap knockaround with that kind of tone. a black on black ATK because i've always liked the style on those. I think for fun i'd throw in a Reverend Rumblefish, they get a good jazz bass tone with a real unique style. i think that would be enough for a variety of tone and a sweet looking collection.

Most of you guys aren't talking real "collections", just big piles of basses. A real collectionwould have some theme to it.

I'd like one of every variant of P-bass, even better would be all in the same custom color. Then a Thunderbird IV in every custom color.
