Anybody have any basses that they've had made by a local luthier that they would like to share? I am considering selling a few basses and working with some local guys. I have two guitars by a local small Atlanta company, and they are outstanding. That company doesn't offer basses (yet), but there are some other builders around who do. I really enjoyed working with and supporting local people, and it's cool (to me, at least) to have your instruments made in your hometown or state. I encourage anybody to share pictures of their locally made basses as well as describe their experience throughout the build process. It certainly doesn't have to be a well known company or luthier. Thanks!
Not sure what is going on with my photos but I have 2 a Dave Reimer pro 5 PJ. And a Laurence Mollerup fretless 5. Both great basses Dave is currently building me one more Pj (alder morado, active)
Yeah I am about ready to get an order going with Steve, so glad to have a well respected luthier like him here in Georgia. Can't wait. Your Kudela basses are awesome.
I own an FBass Welcome | F Bass, Inc BN6. I'm in British Columbia and their factory is in Ontario. It's not exactly local, but they're also Canadian. {} Separate topic: Kinal basses is in Vancouver and would be most handy to me. I don't own one yet, but I would like one someday. KINAL.COM
Just spoke to Steve on the phone, what a gentleman and knowledgeable guy! I will be paying him a visit soon.
Oh that's really cool! I have never been able to play an FBass, but that is truly beautiful and the shade of blue is really nice. Nice touch with the matching pickup covers too.
The pickup covers must have been a standard inclusion because I didn't add that option. I love them all the same.
