  1. If you could spend $1800.00 today for a new bass
    what would you get?

Me.......a Lakland four string with maple neck.

If I had $1800.... Warmoth Gecko and make it myself, and take the other $800-$900 and use it for other things.

There's really nothing else that I need.

I would find a Gibson RD Artist in butterescotch natural for around $700 and buy a Bag End 115, 2 cords, 2 straps and a Bass Balls with the rest.
  6. Conklin 7-String. High and low notes played as a chord! YIPPIE!

DP Custom. If I had exactly the DP bass I wanted it would in fact cost me a bit less than $1,800 including sales tax and shipping. The LeFay Pangton, which JMX mentioned, is also on the list, but it would cost me more than $1,800.
  9. Nothing. I'd keep saving for a second Sadowsky: PJ4 with alder body and Brazilian rosewood 'board.

Or look for a beat-up Sadowsky on eBay.
  10. Well.. possibly a Gibson RD Artist.

Taking into consideration only basses that I've played.. I'll say a USA bolton Spector 4 string.

    I'd save a little more & buy a 4 string Sadowsky. If you want a 5 string Sadowsky (normally $3000+ & 3 month wait :)) , I have one for sale on eBay. <a href="">CLICK HERE</a> to take a peek. My reserve is $2000.

Allo, that would go perfectly with your Jazz. IMHO, the Rapture J2 is the ultimate Jazz style 5 string, with apologies to Sadowsky fans.
  17. Apology accepted. ;) :)

    Like I need another bass;)

If I had to spend $1800 I'd get a used single-cut R bass... or have a custom built by Craig Muller or Chris Stambaugh.

For me it would probably be a Peavey Cirrus 6 stringer... [IMG]
