Your opinions on this case

  1. So I just got my new ATA case in the mail and I'm trying to decide if I like it or not. I measured before I bought it but I guess in my mind it was going to fit a little bit more snug. It was a pre-sized ebay one. (Not blaming them at all) What are your opinions on this? Does this look ok or just look stupid?

  2. The appearance would bother me personally, but more important, the extra space negates some of the benefit of having a case to begin with. You want it snug. I guess you could put some foam in there.

You need more foam, otherwise there's no point in having that road case

What seller did you buy from? Double check the ad dimensions and make sure you got the case that you ordered. It will be possible to make the amp snug with more foam but if you ordered a SVT CL flight case then it should be the right size right out of the box.
  5. They sent me the right case. Their ad stated that they (the amp) can be different sizes. I knew there would be a little gap but it was a good price and I didn't think it would be as bad as it is. I will probably just try some more foam. Kinda bummed but its my own fault. I got excited and bought it in a hurry.

Yep, it would bug me for sure.
  7. The phrase *throwing a hot dog down the hallway* comes to mind

Haven't seen a gap like that since Michael Strahan. I knew older SVT's were a little taller but THAT much taller?
  9. Not.
  10. Ha! The verdict is in. I have written the seller begging for an exchange. ugh. Thanks for the opinions. I almost had myself convinced that it was ok.....although I was not ok with it.

If you have any cash left over, I'd suggest buying a new ruler :)
  12. This looks a little less stupid I guess. The case is still enormous. ha.

That's better. It will protect the head and that's the main thing. I would put the case on the ground and the cab on top. Bring the drivers closer to ear level. That's just me though.

In all seriousness, would they offer some sort of exchange?
  17. No exchange. This was the only solution they had for me. I guess it is what it is at this point.

Um, for stability, put the extra foam on top.
    Or just return that sh*t.

Sell it. It serves little purpose for shipping since its too big, and why in the world would you ever want to drag that thing in to a gig and use it like a rack? Take the SVT out of the dang case. Its already a heavy bustard, and I would only use a case (properly sized) if
I were going to ship the head, or let some idiots throw my gear into a truck. If you're handling your own gear you dont need it for local jobs. If you insist on using it, take some steroids and bulk up, or buy lots of health insurance.

    Pretty much that^^^

An SVT is fairly large sized as is. That case must be enormous. Unless you're on tour somewhere I think it's way overkill. Just my opinion of course.
