Mark White's an awesome guy, and player. Humble too.
My current teacher - I am not sure whether that's a good or a bad thing.
That is what I have heard. He teaches in my city too, but in my city that can mean an hour drive away: hence why I couldn’t set up for lessons.
Probably Kyle McDonald from Slightly Stoopid or Eric Coomes from Lettuce.
And my thinking no doubt reminds me of Albert Einstein.
I'm more of a Stephen Hawking in Brad Pitt's body kind of guy.
I think Tim Commerford and Paul Jackson had the biggest impact on my playing so far.
Me! Complete with all the bum notes and scuffed runs etc.

A lot of people told me I just sound like Jaco...... when playing drums with a broken wrist.
Seriously, I'd say Joe Osborn.
One of the best -- and most fascinating -- compliments I've ever gotten about my playing was at a gig in Cambridge MA some ~25 years ago...after the second set some guy came up to me and in hushed, almost reverential tones, said "You are clearly a bassist who understands the music of Olivier Messiaen."
The weird thing was, we hadn't played any of Messiaen's music at that show!
I'v played in bands where someone came up and said "I liked that (name of famous band or artist here) tune" - and we played all original music. I've also had numerous people come up after church services and say "you're the guitarist from the band, you guys soundeg great" (I never play guitar). I learned long ago that when someone says something that acknowledges your music or compliments what you do, regardless of their accuracy, the correct response is simply "thanks".
My style? It would be a little pretentious to claim that I have a style...
Being in a power trio, I play a lot of notes, often 2 or 3 at the same time.
I would not make a good studio bassist.
Their answer: "You sound good. As long as you can play "Immigrant Song."
