Got my vote!
I would have to agree.
you are WRONG dude... Zappa IS the best
He´s got my vote to!
He was a very talented man indeed!
Zappa is a musical genius.
Zappa was GREAT!!
I just started listening to Zappa, but I've only heard "Don't eat the yellow snow" and "Dynamo Hum"
Any suggestions on other songs?
I don't know much Zappa, but "Peaches en regalia" ought to be one of the best instrumental tunes I've heard.
Forgot to metion that one too. I'm not much of an instrumental fan.
Here's the album....
One of my favorites is "Echidnas Arf", which is played right after "Village of the sun" on an album, that I can't remember the name of right now.
We did a percussion only (+ bass) by that song. It was great fun, marimba and vibraphone playing the leads, and that little pentatonic solo thing was played on a little xylophone. It was a blast.
That would be Roxy & Elsewhere .
Here it is...
Ah, yes. How could i forget? I lost my copy of that a while ago...
My votes for Joe's Garage & Hot Rats...& maybe even Overnight Sensation.
Gotta mention 'my' newest discovery, the Hasidc New Wave(Fima Ephron on bass)-
I just picked up Kabology today; one of the tunes is called "The Frank Zappa Memorial Bris".
Needless to say, the tune is insane...& it only lasts a minute!
BTW, if you're a Zappa freak, how 'bout Captain Beefheart? How 'out' is Trout Mask Replica?!
Ahhhh ... sophomore year in Denton ... living better through chemistry and absorbing as much FZ as a person can possibly handle ... memories.
That same song order is done amazingly well on You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Volume 2 - The Helsinki Concert (YCDTOSA2). As a matter of fact, the overwhelming majority of those (2) discs is pretty freakin' phenomenal, too. Highly recommended, as is Make a Jazz Noise Here if you're into the stupefying live band kind of thing.
he did wonderful things on a "starway to heaven" crazy version!
Yeah, Zappa was indeed the best.
