That is really cool, Paul! An affordable electric upright that has a radius that will work for bowing, that can also double as a regular fretless as well.

I wonder how it sounds, and if they are planning on offering a 5 string version of it?

  3. I thought that model had been around for a while. It looks a bit like My Zeta (see http://www.k1wd.com/music/bass/Zeta_PB304.jpg) which I bought used, about a year ago.

The Zeta is nice and easy to carry around, but to be quite honest, it plays nothing like a real double-bass (see: http://www.k1wd.com/music/bass/URB.jpg). There's no vibration, no "feel", very little character. Pizz. is OK, but arco is easier on a real double-bass (the large radius of the Zeta bridge makes it more difficult to bow)

I've hardly used My Zeta since I got My Double-Bass. Once you've played a double-bass, there is nothing else...
