I love a good zombie movie. My taste in them runs more towards the older ('30s- '50s)films though. I've also caught a couple of Mexican Z flicks- strange and funny. But I have to ask: why re-make a classic? I hate it when they do that.
you can't go wrong with "Biker ckicks in Zombietown" or something like that. My personal favorite are "Night of the Living Dead" and "Return of the Living Dead". Cheesy? Hell yes. Thouroughly enjoyable? Without a doubt. There was also a movie (can't remember the name0 about Nazi Zombies Terrorizing these folks on some Caribbean Island.
I prefer the ridiculously funny over the "trying to be scary but not really doing it well" zombie flicks that I've seen so much of, like that Resident Evil movie. I don't see what the scary thing about it was, it was just a bunch of slow walking zombies getting shot at, occasionally biting people. A friend of mine said 28 Days Later was actually really good and really scary, but I'm not sure how much I trust her judgement on these things. If anyone else has seen it and can give it a thumbs up or thumbs down, I'd appreciate it. On another note, not about zombies but still about monsters, I loved the film Dog Soldiers. I put that in the "ridiculously funny" category.
Dog soldiers...while not zombie...was certainly totally awesome, funny and bad ass at the same time. while not TOO cheesy. I don't really like zombie movies, cause...well...zombies are the worst....of all monsters, zombies are the worst for me.
Do a search...I started a thread about it after I saw it, there area few Tb'ers that feel the same way we do
Blood of Ghastly Horror, Buttcrack! , Redneck Zombies, Space Zombie Bingo, Rabid Grannies, Zombie Island Massacre...
Dead And Buried starring Jack Albertson. Great twist at the end...& some nice ta-tas in the opening scene! Hey, Now.
Thanks for the correction. I knew it was something along those lines. Just one of those flicks you see the title and the cover and thing, "gotta see that one".
