Wow! That is sweet! What kind of top is that?

I love my Sonus Custom 5, but I'll bet that thing is awesome! Never seen one in person.

me too... only a bass genius like Manring can make it sound good... there´s some online video around with manring playing "enormous room" with a Hyper bass (can´t do it on a regular bass ;)) and it´s amazing the control over harmonics and the detuning devices on the head and the bridge...

if i had a bass like that i couldn´t figure what to do with it :) (maybe selling it to buy a Zon Sonus and a Musicman hehehe :D)
  5. Personally, I cant think of a better instrument that could accentuate my playing better than the Hyperbass. The idea of being able to change tunings during a piece of music is really exciting to me.

    Sorry, but...

I think that thing is pretty DAMN ugly. It seems like

    a) someone did a bad mistake while carving
    b) the thing fell down and one piece of the bass fell away...

  7. Hey man thats cool, I think it is an incredible piece myself.

  9. i remember when i first saw a Hyperbass, i thought, $hit, now i think, how interesting, i'd love to give one a go, even though my intonation would be out

is it me or is anyone else seduced by the open black exspanse of that fingerboard, i'd love to tackle unlined fretless, my next project i think

I have resisted for a number of years going "high end" because I don't see enough added value for the money. But I must say that Zon borders on a work of art. It is beautiful. But I still wouldn't buy one.

Dammit benjamin, reading your posts is like masturbating with a cheese grater -- slightly amusing, but mostly painful.

That is the damm funniest thing I have seen on this board in weeks!

This bass looks like a jigsaw puzzle that's missing the last piece.

In every other respect, it's bootiful.
