while the zon is an excellent bass if you like its kind of sound - the body shape doesn't do much for me. anyone else have that opinion? just curious.
If you're talking about the Legacy series, then I think it's a rather unique but still functional and balanced shape without being too "out there". Admittedly, the Sonus is a bit more generic (sorry Joe) but is wears very well for me, and it sorta grows on ya.
i was thinking legacy - it seems a little 80's metal-ish to me. did you guys see that horrible movie 'air heads' about the band? the bass player aspires to own a zon in that film and somehow its stuck with me. hee-haw.
Is this the movie where the guitar player wanted a Puar Reed Smith with the dragon inlay? It also stuck me! For the legacy, I like them, better than the Sonus (I mean the body shape. Never tried either one).
Captain...he didn't "aspire" to own a Zon...that's incorrect syntax for your intended meaning. I love both the Legacy and the Sonus, and I'd be proud to own either...or both! Hopefully someday, I will!
I think I know both what my intended meaning and the definition of 'aspire' are. I'm not sure I follow you with "C-Eye"
I really like the look of the Legacy, especially dig the Hyperbass. And plan on purchasing one in the near future. I dont really recall any 80s metal players using them..??
I like the Sonuses that come in the solid finishes, eg. shoreline gold. Those look tasty. The wood ones IMO look odd; the wood grain doesn't really match the futuristic shape. As for the Legacies...no comment.
