I got this from Vic a few weeks ago, and while it's a great bass, I prefer Jazz equipped Zons. Here are the specs:

    Zon Custom 5
    Swamp Ash Body
    Quilted/Spalted Maple Top
    Bartolini Soapbars
    Polyfusion 3 band EQ
    24 frets
    Satin neck finish
34" scale, which is extra comfy. Still has a great B string too.
17mm spacing at the brige. Again, nice and comfy.
    Zon Gig Bag

Really a nice bass. One small ding on the headstock keeps it from MINT. I won't be crushed if it doesn't sell.

$1850 shipped in the upper 48 via UPS.

I would prefer an outright sale, but those seem to be hard to come by these days, so trades considered. Trades + cash okay too.

    - Ideal trade would be for a Zon Sonus 5 with Jazz pickups.
    - Roscoe LG/SKB 3005
    - MTD 535
    - Ken Smith 5. With J's preferred.
    - Others considered, but nothing too off the wall. Maybe even a 6.

I hope you don't mind if I post this, but the chip on the headstock is absolutely nothing. It's actually not even into the graphite... it's just a little bit of the clear coat at the edge.

    Some more data...

I bought this bass essentially new, and have barely played it. It's still very very close to new condition and plays fantastically. The ONLY reason I traded it off is because I just prefer my older Sonus 5 more, so this one just sat at my house. Way way wrong. :)

It also has upgrade features. The "standard" Sonus Custom has no figured top. The gloss finish is also an upgrade.

Also, lsu921 gets absolute top marks as a good TB'er to deal with. Buy/trade with confidence. :)

That's a great looking Sonus. If I were in the market I would pull the trigger on this bass. Just has a great vibe about it.

Seems like oftentimes basses on TB are priced too high. This bass is priced very reasonably to me. Worth every dollar. Good luck with the sale.

You can say that again. I just checked the Zon site and went through the builder tool.

The current MSRP on this bass is $4950, with an MSP* of $3713. The price being asked here is clearly about 1/2 of MSP, and for a bass in this good of condition, that's a ridiculous deal. It should move pretty quickly for that.

    * MSP is "Minimum Selling Price". It's Zon's way of giving their dealers guidance on rock bottom pricing. They're strongly encouraged to sell for no less than that amount.

those brighter/blonder natural glossy zons are easily the best ones. if only my black trans zon looked like that. but oh well, these things play so much better than anything else i've tried.

    bump for a sweet deal

Not at all Vic, I was actually digging for that pic so I wouldn't have to take one. :)
