Sounds great ... I saw that thing (along with all the other beautiful Zons) at NAMM. Alas, it and the others were already sold.

It's hard to get the double stops, especially octaves, in tune on a fretless. Bakhithi Kumalo uses them a lot behind Paul Simon.

Nice smooth tone....how'd you record it and what were your tone settings? I'm really getting some gas for a fretless zon now....

The bass sounds great. You strike me as a Manring disciple....true?
  8. grazi guys.

this bass is a keeper fer sure!

i recorded straight into my Mackie, into my M-Audio 2496.

used Fruityloops for the simple drum pattern. exported from FL as a wave file, used Acid to track the rest.

treble and bass flat...mid pumped a bit.

    saved the mp3 at 320k...

i discovered this morning that the bass was WAY out of tune for the overdubbed track from previous detuning experiments..hence the sliding all over trying to find G!

may retrack tonight. i need to brush off my Roland VG8 guitar modeler and add some scrapy stuff on top.

    Z4J: i love manring...dunno about a disciple...he's from another solar system.

this reminds me more of laswell/frith...not that they aren't otherworldly...

Very nice, fred.[IMG] Nice use of dissonance, even if it was unintentional.:p
