still on my hunt for the perfect 6 string, and so far, my next stop has been Zon. a friend owns a 5 string Sonus, and its by far, one of the best basses i've heard. can only imagine how the Zon 6'ers are.

so, anyone have pics or theirs?

Wow, that's some super tight spacing.

  8. hmmm.... The strings do not look that tightly together...
    Maybe I'm just going blind

Well, I have huge, huge hands that wouldn't feel comfortable on anything tighter than a precision. So, a six-string with precision spacing . . . = huge.

Hey, where's the guy who started this thread?...

    J, why don't you look into a Sonus 6?

    hehe, right here,

still shoppin' around, and so far, the Zon has gotten me MAD gas'ed. boog's black Legacy looks very cool, but to be honest, i'm not much of a black finish kinda guy.

but a spalted maple top like that Sonus 5 in the emporium would be most sweet. :bassist:

and while the Sonus' are MAD cool, i like the legacy body shape better.

My 6's body/neck(Sonus neck), is much bigger than the 5 I had. Some people say the string spacing is tight & it isn't 19mm but not unbearable either. Here's a pic of my Legacy 5, not sure where it is these days...

I'd have to say that a Zon Legacy has been the best-feeling bass I've ever played. Perhaps I got lucky and ran across one in a music store that just happened to be set up to my liking. But man, it was awesome. It felt like driving a Porsche - obviously the bass was capable of doing far more than I was.

Every time I've tried Zons in the shops I've preferred the legacy for tone. Both play great. Both look great (I actually think the sonus looks better).
