Just picked this beauty up this week and was totally blown away by the play and tone of this beast. Unfortunately I play an unlined fretless and I simply can't deal with having lines on my fretless, come to find out. I thought for sure if I could play unlined I could play lined...no dice. That plus the strings being a bit further apart than I'm used to, I'm just not sure I can play this guy.

Which is unfortunate because the bass plays and sounds amazing. Ash body, graphite neck, 34" scale, 18mm spacing. Bart pickups, Polyfusion pre. Frets were removed and filled, epoxy coated board. The board holds up really well to rounds and has a really aggressive, cutting rock tone. Sounds just monstrous.

Looking mostly for the right trade...something I can actually play without getting distracted. I'll be pretty specific if it's a fretless. Must be 5 string, unlined factory board, 17.5 mm spacing or narrower, 34" scale. Weight is no issue, for me. I'd be willing to entertain trades plus cash, though I can't add cash to any deal. I'll also consider fretted 5 string basses. 4 stringers would be a stretch but I'll at least listen to offers. I like Warwicks, CB, Zon, but will listen to others.

Totally bummed this bass isn't working for me but if I can't play it, I can't play it.

Here's the thread I bought it from:

I might also consider spector euros, or a fretless rick (maybe even a fretted one). Really would like another warwick fretless 5. Can even be a rockbass plus cash.

Up. I'll also consider an aguilar db750 or the like.

Do you think this bass can be strung EADGC? or are the nut grooves too wide for that?

Not sure if it would be solid. Might need a new nut for that tuning. And bump.
