I know that we've covered this before but I can't find the threads. Could someone compare the Sonus 5 to the Custom 5?

My thinking is that the Sonus is more in line with a J-bass and the Custom is more in a tone range of it's own due to the H-buckers and the different preamps.

The Sonus Custom is close to the sound of my Leagcy Standard, which is also a bolt on. IMO it has more punch, better mids and lows and is far more flexible the the base Sonus. I guess my main problem with the base Sonus is the pickup placement, particularly the neck pickup which IMO is too far away from the bridge pickup to be useful.

Sonus V: More traditional woody tone, more mid range growl,

Sonus V Custom: More hi-fi metallic tone, less mids

    Both are equally punchy.
