I own a Zoom B2 and really like it. I haven't had a chance to play through a B3. Can anybody here tell me if the B3 sounds that much better than the B2?
I'm intrigued too. I've a B2.1u, adds a little fuzz and has a drum machine which comes in handy for woodshedding, However I've read on one of the B3 threads that it has a better interface and cab modelling - cool but I'd like to hear from someone who has used both for more than a few minutes... I'm gonna read the other thread a bit, I won't be getting a B3 in the next week or two anyway so no mad rush. Good thread though. Multieffects keeps the pedal count, and cost down - not that I'm a huge effect fan myself. >subscribed!
Well the thing is that I use an auto wah, and octaver and maybe a synth bass, or phaser if I'm feeling strange. B ut the effects i turn on or off as I need. As it stands I use a blanck patch on A5, Octaver on A4, and Auto Wah on A5. A3 Synth A7 Phaser. This way i don't have to click too many times. I suppose the stomp config would make that easier.... but it is still money for convenience....
The B3 has an Active/Passive switch; the B2 doesn't. WHat happens if I plug an Active bass into the B2? Will it fry it? If that's the case, then I may need to get the B3.
Yeah, I've used the phaser to good effect on my attempts at the thin lizzy track 'waiting for an alibi' Super cool with a pick - but I'm never going to master pick playing, not until I get fingerstyle 100% anyhoo (which is never). B7 is a favourite - tubey & compressed sounds nice and thick, but I'm playing through a telebass so thick comes pretty ready anyway! I find the 'double stomp' bypass is a bit of a pain but the tuner works good, the pedal is fairly quiet and I can add a tube screamer & an autowah if I feel like some craziness (D9 or something).
