i own 3 p basses (a 64, this 72 and an 82 fullerton 62 reissue) and i dont even like p basses. ive been keeping it because it looks sweet next to my 74 jazz.

this guy is a player and needs to be rocked out. ash/maple and a badass bridge. the guard and pots are replacements. the pickup has been rewound by mj at the seymour duncan custom shop. youd never know by looking or by tone that it wasnt stock. they do great/fender correct work. ive foil shielded the cavity so its dead quiet whether youre touching the strings or not. 1.59" nut width. 10.2 on the bathroom scale.

its definitely a player. it hasnt been stripped to wood, but the thin/top color coat (the part that checks/ambers/flakes off) was removed leaving the thick undercoat. there are some spots of exposed wood from player wear. nicks and dings on the neck (one good spot on the headstock looks like it took a cymbal). this thing has been played hard. it has been for a reason though. the neck is dead straight with no flip in the upper register. every fender ive owned has needed some type of upper register fretwork to get the action slammed low. i did nothing to this one. it was ready to go when i got it.

the body doesnt have the channel route from the pickup to the control cavity that started in 73 and the bridge is placed in the spot that originally had the long G intonation screw bridge. the serial dates it to 72 but im calling it a 72/73 just to be safe. comes with what looks to be like at least a period correct case (dont know if its original) but its missing the inside compartment. 1600 + actual shipping.
