I'll take a number as I just bought this today. Its a 2012 American Standard and these pickups absolutely kill!!

 

Got it back yesterday...let's just say that it no longer sounds like a traditional P bass. It now has an extremely hi-fi/modern sound, which is what I wanted. I know some of you P bass purists would probably be upset with the tone, but my two Jazz basses get me the passive Fender tone.

I'm having the most ridiculously childish problem ever

I'm looking to get a P in November. I already have one but it's a bog standard, MiM that is to be completely honest, nowhere near what I want these days. It makes me sad because I swear, no bass excites me like a P-bass.

So I'm looking at a Deluxe Active P-Bass Special, Maple neck. However, I can't decide between the black and gold, the red and gold and the silver and gold. Does anyone have one of the three so they could take a photo? I can only see them online in the stock photos and it's hard to judge. I dont want to order a €800 guitar and it to get here and look awful

again, apologies for the terrible nature of this. As a way of apologising, here's my current Precision. It had a white pickguard but I replaced it with black.

You can never go wrong with black and maple. Look through the Black & Maple Club thread and you'll probably see one of those Specials. Good luck with whichever you get.

Here in Italy they didn't arrive yet! Wish they had (and a buddy of mine wish tht 2). Too bad I bought my 2008 just a year ago, I should have waited since I haven't used it that much!

went with blizzard pearl with gold pickguard



I'm not a big fan of black basses (personal thing, I realise im in the minority ) and the red didnt look great with the gold so I was more than happy to get the silver
