Had a pretty good show. It was good to see @donhank and meet @DaDo625 last night. Always good to have support from fellow TB'ers.
Don't be modest...it was a great show with crowd, sound system and playing to match.. Please excuse my photography as I did not want to get too close and be "that guy"....
@DaDo625 How cool that it worked out for you to be there - disappointed that we didn't get to meet. Go ahead and be "that guy" next time - we won't call for security ! @NorthTexasBass Your keyboard player added so much more interesting stuff this show compared to last - what did y'all feed him for breakfast ??
All of our songs are evolving, we've been encouraging him to take more of a leading role on some of our songs. He's a talented guy.
Any fretless players in North Dallas/North DFW? I got a cheap damaged fretless for fun, repaired it, but it's not quite there. Plays, but doesn't quite have the sound I hear when listening to fretless. Figured more experienced fingers would help identify my issues..... It could easily be a technique issue and not a repair issue. before I get a ton of questions, yes I have the strings low. I filed a new nut, soldered connections, and cleaned bass when I got it. It could definitely use more work and cleaning, but I may refinish, so I'm not too worried at moment.
LOL... 13 years on TB, and 40 years in Texas and somehow this one escaped me. Well, better late than never I guess. Grew up in San Marcos -> 20 years in Austin -> 3 years in Longview -> currently in Houston
This is the first time I have seen this thread also - I really need to pay better attention! Been in Austin over 20 years now…
Gigging at The Celt in McKinney on 8/14/21. We go on about 8pm. I guess by zip code, I default to becoming a member of this club.
