The seller say that this bass is a 1989 Fender 62 1962 Stack Knob Jazz Bass American model. Is there any way to confirm this for the photos?

Yeah, that IS a US 62RI stack knob. The Serials on those start with V, and it looks right for that era bass, probably a V02 or V03 serial.

These do not have any 'Made in US' decals on them, because the 60's originals did not either.

The only spot that's going to give you any real close date is the butt of the neck. The pots on 89's still were using up the mass stock of 82 stack pots on these Jazzes.

    It's a legit AVRI.

1989? I dunno, look up the serial number (on the neck plate).

It doesn't have any holes drilled for the rear pickup cover. Was that normal for this era? The post 2000 reissues I've seen have the rear ashtray included in the case candy.

  7. Stock Corona ReIssue. Nice one.

  8. Here's my 1989 RI in Ocean Turquoise. The Fullerton reissues tend to get most of the attention, but the Corona reissues from the late 80s are fine instruments.

That's been for sale for a while, no? If it's the seller I think it is, I've bought gear off him before and he's sound.

I think it has been sold and is for sale again. New owner is in Canada, not far from me. Any idea who the original seller was (that you are referring to)? The new owner sent me a load of great pics, but I noticed palm trees in the background of many of the pics. We do not have palm trees here in NF, so I figured he just used the original sellers photos.

I looked into this and smelled a rat. The current ads in Canada are a scam.

Looks like the listing has ended.
One of my favorite Jazz Basses in perhaps my favorite color.
Makes me want to pull the trigger on one of the US 50th. Anniversary Jazz Basses currently listed on Reverb.....

Beautiful bass! Too bad it's being used as scam bait.
