Elrick anyone?

Specifically the Expat New Jazz Standard 4/24.
Went down to BassSanDiego this past weekend (What a great shop) to look at and play a Lull MV-4, Sadowsky Metro MV-4 and Lakland USA 44-60. Thinking one of these may be in my future. A local player who was in the shop spoke up and said to not sleep on the Elrick. Any thoughts or exprience with these? It felt great and played well acoustically. Opinions and or comparisons welcome on any of the for mentioned basses.
