how to use overdrive?

    hey im new on this part of talk bass, i read that some people use overdrive pedals for punk but i dont know how to set mine to sound properly, i have this PD7 phat-head ibanez overdirve how shall i set it?

    btw im playing a Jazz bass

    what sound do you want? The PD-7 is great value for money, but it's not that great at doing mild overdrive. Either way, you'll put it in od mode, pick a relatively low drive setting and adjust eq and level to flavor.

    Why not go to the ibanez web site which has sample sounds / settings for the PD-7?

    You can use them as is or as the basis for your own sounds
