recently on some long,, hot, (and strange)gigs my flats felt sticky.i have been trying to keep them clean with the usual cleaning stuff ie.fast fret,no1 string cleaner etc but it still happens on sweaty gigs.and a mate suggested silicone oil.now i know silicone is not a friend of guitar finishes so i carefully wiped the strings with a silicone wet cloth and kept it off the fingerboard and the strings now feel like ice.i have not noticed a change in the tone but i was wondering if anybody has any warnings or otherwise about using silicone oil on flats.i must say they feel great and make some of the more complex runs a lot easier,i just have a nagging feeling that if silicone was the answer to these sticky problems you guys would know about it.so any comments
