The rebirth of old threads lately..... some kind of joke?

Now the issue is how do we go about electing the committee.

 

The first requisite will be a join date pre-2001

 

The only posters who really bug me are the ones who get on others' cases for not searching, zombie threads and the like, I mean, who appointed them forum moderators?

 

Absolutely not! The best questions are always the ones you already know the answers to.

 

Here's one reason I will most likely never be a moderator on talkbass:

1. I really don't care what any of you do

 

Well that's just patently-pile-drivingly false , maybe.

 

Everybody gets one... this should go on for a while.

 

It doesn't matter whether a thread began yesterday or ten years ago.

Why?

Because there is no time.

We humans made up the concept of time.

It's just that everything has already been said, but not everyone has had the chance to say it yet.

 

It just shows that there are issues in music/playing that have always and always be there. No matter how it is spun, packaged, re-packaged, etc. there are core issues and themes that are just a fact of playing music.

 

I see what you mean. some of my old thread has resurfaced a few months ago. I was surprised to see my digitech bp355 thread once again. I'm guessing there were some talkbass members who own a digitech bp355 were posting requests on new patch ideas. so I pretty much delivered what they want and many more. so old threads being resurface is probably no joke after all. it's just a coincidence that some talkbass members searches for something on the search engine and they just happen to find these old threads.

 

What bugs me is when some nitwit bumps an old request for info with "I love my xyz" 3 years after the OP chose his "abc". If I was king of TB the nitwit would get a few days off to reflect.

 

No need to elect the committee, Trolls are always willing to self appoint themselves!

 

Jeez...talk about a first world problem.

Crap! I got to page 2 before I read the date May 21, 2013.

 

Well, played. But if you had searched you would have this whole bump a thread years later thing had been done in 2011.

 

I would imagine that if they are having and issue or a question that needs answering and it closely fits to what an older topic started, they are posting it inside there instead of adding a brand new post. It's all over the site to "Search before you post". I'm guessing they are abiding by that.
