This is an absolutely killer passive Warwick bass. Hard to find too - there were only 60 or so of these made. Made in Germany, it has an ash body in a cherry red transparent finish. Faux MOP pickguard, wenge neck, passive Warwick lipstick pickups, and a fantastic 2Tek bridge which has amazing punch and sustain. This bass is not to be confused with the later reissues which had a standard Warwick bridge.

The bolt on neck is one of Warwick’s finest - slick and thin Jazz style, wenge on wenge. It plays beautifully. One of the smoothest and comfiest necks I’ve ever played. It’s a two octave neck with bronze frets and brass Just -A - Nut 1. All the hardware is original.

Weighs about 10 pounds and will come in a GruvGear gig blade bag. Width at nut is 1.5”, 2.1” at the 12th fret, and 2.4” at the 24th.

There is some scratches on the back, but nothing too bad. Tops of the pickups are scraped up from the strings. I’m the second owner and I looks as though tune original owner played in away that the strings did this.

I had this on the market awhile ago and then removed it. Since then I’ve set it up with my favorite strings - La Bella Low Tension flats, which sound and feel fantastic. When I did this I somehow managed to lose the center snap I top to the easy access truss rod cover. I ordered a replacement that fits perfectly, but it says “Warwick” on it rather than “Fortress one”

If you’d like to hear this check the link to a short video demo below.

Also adding a couple f board recordings of this bass. Every time I gigged with it the front of house engineer raved about it saying they had to do nothing at all to it :

Ahhh…. That’s very kind of you. There’s a link to it in my post, but here it is again. I actually shot it for the original owner who wanted to hear what it sounded like with flats on it. That’s back when I had Thomastik flats instead of the La Bellas I have on it now though.

I did have the video linked in a different way. It didn’t where it didn’t show the picture though. I fixed that now. Thanks for asking about it!
