GORGEOUS open grain J style 5-string by Fernandes Japan available!!
This was refinished by Mike in OR from the stock black gloss finish and we are all better off for it, the grain detail on this Japanese Sen Ash piece is absolutely stunning.
Electronics were upgraded to Bartolini humcancelling Classic J pickups and a NTBT 2band preamp. Also added was an aguilar style (MN Taper) blend pot for more effective application of the blend control (non-grounded, thanks TB!). Vintage tone control was also added similar to the sadowsky style preamp. Tone control is Push/Pull for Active/Passive.
All Gold MIJ hardware(gotoh), and the bridge is a type that is highly functional/adjustable.
PICTURE NOTE: The large gold knob on blend control was a temporary addition, the 3 gold knobs are all the same.
Really well balanced, nice flat radius and setup perfectly with fresh round core GHS nickel strings.
Beautifully polished frets that are hardly worn down, with an added hand carved bone nut added.
minimal wear other than normal usage, except for one faint dent and one filled chip on the back of the neck, neither of which are noticeable while playing. illustrated in pics. also a small finish chip around the tuning post of the D string.
Original parts included only on request (pickups, preamp, nut).

Cannot ship at the moment due to the box size but pickup in NYC is welcome, also willing to drive within reasonable distance of the NYC tristate area if you want to meet.
