Alrighty. My Dingwall evolution is complete--I've settled on an AB1.5. For now... I have these 2 beauties for sale. All prices include PP and shipping to continental US. No international sales. NO TRADES (I hate all caps...) except for maybe the right AB2.5. Other than that...NO TRADES (I still hate all caps...)!

1. Super J 5 with all the bling. Wenge neck and board, Glockenklang 2-band, block-markers--you should see Sheldon's price list! Sounds great but, strangely, I can't bond with the wenge neck. Weight is 9lbs, 5oz. Excellent condition--no marks that I can find. Comes with upgraded DW gig bag and full set of wrenches. This one is gonna make someone really happy. Price: $3200.

2. Super P5. Great bass but I'm a Jazz Bass guy. This looked great in the TB ad and, given there weren't many other DW choices at the time, I went with it. After less than 5 minutes of play time I realized that Dingwalls rule. But I soon missed the Jazz pup. I talked with Sheldon about converting this to a PJ but decided against it. It wants to be a P. Maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, reverse P setup (which I like). Weight is a reasonable 9lbs, 1oz. Standard DW gig bag and adjustment wrenches included. Fresh set of DW nickel rounds. Excellent condition save for one small ding/indent by neck bolts (see pics). Price: SOLD

The SP used to be mine, I miss it. Had I just not ordered a SPJ I'd offer to buy it back

And if it had a J pup I wouldn't be selling! My AB-1 gets most of my attention but I do pick up the SP5 just to remind myself how much I like it.

FWIW, my SPJ5 still gets 90% of my play time and so far 100% of my gigs despite having bought a Z3. The ABI is a sweet bass, but my god, it doesn't get much better than what you've got here, less'n you figured a way to squish them together into one bass.

I have figured a way--two, actually. 1. Send the SP5 to one of Sheldon's recommended techs (the shop can't take on extra work right now) and have him install the J pup and rotary knob. 2. Put the SP5 neck on the SJ5.

Or 3: Wait for the right SJ5 or SP5 to show up...

I agree. In a way it's good that Sheldon and the shop are too busy. But if they weren't it would be in Saskatoon getting fitted for a J pup.

I think I'll just leave them as is. The AB1.5 makes it an easy decision.

That P looks gorgeous! Seen the vids. They sound great! Do you know the string spacing on it?
