Where do I start? This guy comes at me with 3 different bass trade offers for my Elrick. I decided that I liked the Brubaker 5 and made the trade. Before we made the trade I asked for more information, he sends me a Talk Bass ad that has the bass in a TLK gig bag with the original knobs on the preamp. (Mind you that this bass comes with 3 interchangeable preamps with knobs) We make the deal. I've never traded before so I requested that a local repair shop be our in-between so we are both covered. The arrives in an old SKB case and mixed matched knobs on one preamp and one preamp had no knobs at all non of the knobs are original like in the Talk Bass ad he sent! I let him know that I thought it was uncool to send me an incomplete bass without letting me know that some things may have been changed and that he should pay for his own shipping because I don't think he kept up his side of the deal. Everything I said in my Talk Bass ad was true, from the weight to the Elrick case. I did a little more research and found the same bass on sale on Reverb with the TLK gig bag and knobs so I knew something is up! He gives me some lame excuse about we never talked about a gig bag! Really? A 4g bass doesn't come with a case or a gig bag? Whatever....
The next day I get a Facebook friend request from a guy who's a bassist. I look through the pix to see what this dude is about and there's a picture of him playing a bass that looks a lot like the one I just traded. So I accept his friend request so I can ask him some questions. I sent him a message asking him if it was the same bass and asked how he knew me. He replied he friended me because I was a bassist and after the bs I pulled on his friend the he didn't want to interact with me. Excuse me? Why Is this guy contacting me about this? It turns out that the original Talk Bass ad was HIS!!!!! It was made on April 2026! And in his ad it had the original knobs and gig bag. So either he kept the gig bag and knobs or the guy I made the deal with kept them! But for some reason I'm the one is pulling some bs....He had the nerve to try to get an extra $500 out of me before the trade!!!
Update. He said that if I take down the bad review he will send me the original knobs. What about the gig bag your friend kept? Trade an instrument in the condition that was advertised I can't believe you said that if I asked, you would have sent the original knobs! The knobs and the gig bag comes with the bass!! You stripped the bass for parts and didn't think I wouldn't notice!
