Good, fast communication. Quick payment. Loved the bass! What more could a seller ask for? Was a little concerned at first since he was new to TalkBass, but everything worked out well for both sides! Very good experience!

First off, this is a gorgeous bass. I opted to keep the bass, rather than press for a refund, since it is so beautiful and sounds so great. However, the seller was very explicit in his online postings, videos, PMs that the bass was in pristine condition. "Not a scratch on it" was said multiple times. If you are going to make statements like this is better be true. And there was significant damage to the tone knob on this bass which I discovered once I got home. You couldn't turn the knob all the way and it was dented down into the bass.

When I brought this to the seller's attention, the started to claim that he "never played it" and he was a new bassist and doesn't really know about these things. His video says that he played it at least 10 times, so that isn't credible.

Even if you are a completely new bass player, if you tried to turn the tone knob even once, you would know of the issue. It's not credible to claim you didn't know about the issue. And, if you are going to state the bass is in perfect condition in order to promote a sale, then it is your responsibility to look the bass over in its entirety and to be certain about the condition of the bass. One way or another, the seller was dishonest.

In any event, it was immediately obvious the seller wasn't going to take any responsibility for the damage so I dropped it at that point. I wanted to keep the bass, so I brought it to a professional luthier (a local bass builder here in Texas) and had the damage fixed.

But, the representations made by Popbumper, and refusal to take responsibility for the condition of the bass after the sale, leave me no choice but to leave negative feedback.

A dishonest seller. Buyer beware.

Not that this is worth my time, because I don't come out here ever....but it was your responsibility to note the tone knob issue BEFORE you handed over the cash - not after you got it home. I was completely unaware of it and had no reason to lie - in fact this bass was purchased by another member before you and returned because the nut size was incorrect. Funny how he never mentioned it. I won't be back here to sell or buy ever again, so you who in isn't gonna have any impact. Guys, beware of this buyer, he fully inspected it in broad sunny daylight in a parking lot with my friend and I standing there, it was his choice to buy. Enjoy your bass, glad it's what you wanted.
