Double Bass Model of bass

In my search to find a new bass I currently brought home with me two Romanian basses to try out. This question is regarding the left one in the picture. I was wondering what kind of model this bass is. The one on the right is supposed to be made after a French model but with my limited knowledge I cannot identify the shape of the left bass.

Please don't mind the crappy pictures... both basses are much darker in real life, the right one almost looks like a blond bass here...

It is very narrow between the C bouts and has a carved back. Maybe it is not any model at all and just a "narrow bass" :hmm:

Both? Although I got both basses from different luthiers a lot of small details tend to make me believe they are from the same builder...

I was commenting on the bass about which you specifically asked-- the one on the left. Both pictures seem to show that the bridge is tilted on that bass.

This was a bass I owned for quite some time, a small solo bass by Jorge Vasquez de Anda, who studied in Cremona. I've seen several other makers use this pattern.

It was a very nice bass.

I sold the bass to a grad student at Michigan (if I remember correctly) who posted in the want ads that he was looking for a solo bass. We had a long exchange of emails before I decided to sell it to him, but I thought it was the right thing to do. He will put it to far better use than I ever did.
