Not looking to discount this is if at all possible, the upright I want will cost me hundreds more and I need to raise cash.

Buy this bass and I will include:
Fender American Standard single coil pickups, Fender Mexican pickups, Fender John Suhr pickups. You can sell what you decide you don't want. Hows that?

Just FYI if you are interested in this bass with Nordstrand pickups, let me know and I can figure out the total cost.

I think I may have sold a Fender to finance an upright, so this bass is now officially on "feeler" status.

Wow Doug
Pretty awesome. I generally dislike the B strings on most Fenders. This one you say is tight and focused? And flopping around or overtones to speak of? This is a beauty.

I've had my share of Fender American Deluxe, Standards and Mexicans that exhibited a floppy B with dark muddy overtones as well.

Matter of fact I have a 2011 Amercian Standard P5 and that B string sounds very good.

These Warmoth parts bass overall have been much more consistent and have a more "boutique" quality tone overall, including the B string performance.

Matter of fact, I have another one that I strung up with the through body option, and I think the B string rings clearer using the top load option. The B string (Carvin/La Bella SS) set that I just put on has a tapered B string and the tapered section of the string seems to transmit better in contact with the bridge, vs. the thicker portion of the string.

The bass in this posting does not have string through body option and I would never use it if it did. The B string is very consistent both in volume and in character to the rest of the strings, and the set on the bass is not new by any stretch whatsoever.

Here is a quick and dirty audio file demonstrating what this bass sounds like with the Joe Bardens in it. I tried to hang around the B string as much as possible.

The strings are kinda old so keep it in mind.
