For sale or trade.

Looking for a USA Lakland, Sadowsky Bass, or a nice Valenti.

Bought this bass less than a week ago from another TB'er, but this is just way too much bass for me! I'm a simple man and prefer a more vintage feel to my basses.

Bass is beautiful. Had it set up a few days ago. Action is perfect and neck is straight as can be. Pictures are from original thread as well.

Here are the dtails from the original thread:

Up for sale is my beautiful Nordy VJ4. This bass is extremely versatile, capable of a great variety of usable tones thanks to the 3-band preamp and the Nordstrand Big Single pickups. You can dial in a wide spectrum of sounds, from a gnarly open jazz bass tone to a round deep neck pickup tone. This bass also accepts a great low action setup, and the neck is super fast. Condition is excellent- I was able to find one small ding on the bottom, and a very light mark on the back, neither of which could be photographed.

Specs as follows:

Alder Body
Rosewood Board
Pearloid Blocks w/ Binding
Nordstrand 3-Band Preamp- Volume (Pull-Passive) / Volume / Tone Control / Mid (Up 1k, Down 400) / Bass
Pearloid Pickguard

Looking for a USA Lakland or Sadowsky Bass.

Cash price is $2100 firm. It's what I paid. Shipped to lower 48.

Three things:

Weight?

Year it was born?

Howse the neck feel in the hand down at the first fret?
Rounded? Flat? Thin? Thick? Clubby?

Thanks!

Weight on my trusty bathroom scale is 9.5lbs.

Not sure about the year, to be honest I am not sure how to date a Nordy, I will check with the previous owner. The serial number is 191.

The neck is possibly the fastest neck I have ever played. C shape and very smooth. Feels almost as thin as the neck on a vintage 75 Fender Jazz bass to me.

Hope that helps!

Also her is the control lay out.

Neck Volume (pull passive) / Bridge Volume / Vintage Tone Control / Treble / Midrange (Pull 1k / down 400) / Bass
There is a center detent on the treble / mid / bass as well, so you can boost or cut.

Just got an email back from Nordstand...Production on the bass was completed and shipped on 08/13/2009. If you were to order this exact bass today it would cost 4500.00 and there would be a 10 month wait. Just thought this was some cool info to add on.

p0k

I play the bass and design things.
