Now $995 shipped! I'm open to some trades as well
This is a really cool 5-string Modulus bass. It's a players bass so there are a few dings here and there. The pick-up covers are worn but everything functions as it should. I have an '88 Modulus Quantum 5 and this bass seems very similar in design. The electronics appear to be nearly identical. The cut-ways aren't as deep and the body has a black finish as opposed to the typical flamed maple tops found on Quantums. Also the headstock design is different. The serial number ends in an 85 which makes believe it was made in 1985 and it begins with an "H" which I've never seen on any Modulus bass (and I've owned about 10). The string spacing is very narrow about 16mm. The neck is so narrow that it almost feels like a 4-string neck. This bass would be perfect for someone looking for a 5-string but really likes the feel of a 4-stringer. The pick-ups are active EMG jazz pick-ups and controls are VVT just like my '88 Q5. Also, this bass is very lightweight. Probably about 8lbs. I've never picked up a lighter Modulus bass. If I didn't have such fat fingers, I'd probably hold on to this one but I have trouble even with the 17.5mm spacing.
Asking [DEL]$1150 [/DEL] $995 with case included.
