I've been subscribed to the TC Electronic BG250 thread for a while, and have noticed that TonePrint discussions happen every third page, but it's so spread out that people miss recommendations and such. I figured, why not have a dedicated thread for discussing them.


Share your experiences with TonePrints. Which is your Go-To? Have you found anything practical for gigging (and if so, what style of music)? Etc, etc. :bassist:


Personally, I have only used Spectracomp in band situations (Rock/Pop Cover Band). However, I have some favorites for practice (Flange Da Funk, Fast Vibrato, Clean Octaver)

I did some searching & didn't find the info so I resurrected this thread. I hope it's not too redundant.

Apparently one can not use the Toneprint editor with the BG amps. The editor is in a different format for guitar or whatever.

This leads to the question - how, then, do the artists edit the toneprints that work with the BG's? Surely there are some great pre-made toneprints out there but who doesn't want to go in and tweak & make up their own effects?

Does anyone know if TC is going to make an editor available that is compatible with the amps?

Hi all,

I have been messing around with some TonePrints for the Hall of Fame reverb. I got two recommendations...

The first one is the Vibrato Spring (Troy Van Leeuwen) which works wonders for the inspiration when I attempt Jaco lines or similar :smug:
Settings are Decay 9 o'clock, FX Level 12 o'clock, Tone 12 o'clock, and Pre-delay Short.


The other one is the Beyond The Stars (Tony Grey) which gives a huge reverb for ambient stuff without getting too messy.
Settings are Decay 1 o'clock, FX Level 3 o'clock, Tone 4 o'clock, and Pre-delay Long.

Just came across this thread and hoping to find out which TonePrints people are using, their favorites, etc. My BG250 115 just arrived yesterday so I am pretty excited about learning what it can do! Be rather new to playing bass, it can do a whole lot more than I can! :)

I'm using a BG250 210 and am having problems with the toneprint feature. It worked once and now I can't get any other effects to work. It sounds like it's connecting but nothing changes. I followed the directions for clearing the first effect but nothing changes.

How are you trying to load the Tone Prints, through a phone using the app or hardwired to a computer?

I'm curious, is there any small switch that could be used by manually (by hand) switching tone prints instead of using a foot pedal? It seems rather a shame that there isn't an A/B switch on the front. Thanks

I have one of these bad boys, only TC pedal I own:

I have only spent a little time with the toneprints but it is insane how many possibilities there are. I tried a few prints and found a couple really cool ones:

One is a modulated reverse
Another doubles the signal essentially creating a strange chorus like effect
My favorite has an endless decay time so each note you play decays into an ambient reverb like sound that stacks up. Sounds like your playing in a cave.

Sadly the way it works many of the craziest effects take up 2 or 3 of the delay engines so you can't stack them but that is a whole other ballgame.

Eventually I want to have a huge collection of TC toneprint pedals becouse it is a really cool feature and they make great studio tools.

I just learned today that TC has been around since the 70's, for some reason I thought they were more recent but that gave em extra points in my book :thumbsup:
