ROSEWOOD VS. MAPLE, AND THE DIFFERENCE IS...

I have decided an MTD Kingston-the 5-string model-as my second bass, but I can't decide on the kind of wood I would prefer on the frettboard - maple or rosewood? My playing style consists of slaps galore and high register runs with a thunderous low here and there. What I would like to know is the difference between these two woods (tone, playability, durability, etc.). You inputs will be greatly appreciated. Thanx.
:)
