Short scale 5 string at GC

Picked this ESP Ltd up at guitar center. It is short scale and 5 strings!

Anybody have any info about these. There is nothing on the ESP website. The model is B5-JR.
They sell for $179

Never heard or seen one. What is the scale length? How does it play?

it's 3/4 size. 30" scale. the neck is awesome. i compared it to a 5 string VM jazz and this neck is definitely not as wide. this is the first 5 string i've owned so i'm not sure what to say about the low B. I can make some sound clips and take more measurements when i get home tonight. also, it's extremely lightweight.

I posted about this bass on the shortscale club thread on Jan 30 & no response since. Thought maybe I'd said something stupid cause it's a pretty active thread. I play an epi Allen Woody Sig but want a cheap way to leap to a shorty 5dr. Maybe you could reference my post & offer some feedback. I think it's on pg 3 of "official shortscale club pt 3" . *edit* meant 5str. Stoopid spellcheck. Looked at this bass again an hour ago but noticed they finally got a modern player JAG so I played that til I had to go. Meh on that bass. Anyway would love to discuss this new Ltd shorty 5er. there are so few short scale 5'ers around let alone ones this cheap. that might explain the lack of response. these basses must be pretty new because i go to GC quite frequently and hadn't seen it until now.

How is it tuned? It sounds like E-C in the video, doesn't it? Or am I just THAT tone deaf?

Mine is B-G. Cant speak for thr video.

same scale as a mikro...i measured it at 28.5". the nut is 1 5/8".

The stock B string measures .125 ...i think i'll try a .135 on there just need to figure out how to shorten the string somehow.
