So cool, but I prefer my rickenfakers to have a more authentic looking neck. Is the back painted black? Very cool.

Yeah, this is the only Fakenbacker I've ever seen with maple board w/ black triangle inlays. Not aware of an actual Ric model that has anything similar.

Re the back, either painted or stained. It's original and under the finish. Hard to tell.

It does it sound like a Ric? And if so, can it be made to thump like a P-Bass?

That's pretty subjective isn't it? I guess it sounds "ric-like" and yeah, if you put some flats on it there's a pretty P-ish thump to it. I dunno. Tone and "sound" are really in the ear of the be-listener in my opinion.

With all that said, it is pretty growly and punchy with a fresh set o' rounds on it. Nice treble bite too.
