The original 55-94 ,with choice of Rosewood neck or Maple, or Willie Weeks Prototype passive JJ model. I like active basses so I might put some type of pre in WW model, but use original holes, no extra cutting.

My 55-94 is a GREAT bass and I'd be gassing for a Willie Weeks if I didn't have my Alleva Coppolo's. I'd have a hard time deciding but would probably go with the WW as I use a J-Bass more than the 55-94. Just my $0.000000000000000000002, though.

They are both gorgeous. Lakland makes other models of US Jazz basses but only 1 with that MM/J pre set up. That would be my choice. Of course, it's always nice to have something different...

You'll be happy either way!

that dual j was at the gtg and its a really cool bass, i have a 4 string version. also that bass already has a battery box for some reason, so if you want to add electronics that may come in handy.

doug (basspraiser)will be very sad to see you buy that bass, he really wanted it.

Yeh - that Dual J (the WW model had a pre) was like butta!!! that is one of the sweetest playing (and sounding) laklands....just could not come up with the cash to buy it....

the color is even better in person....it is more translucent that the pics show....

oh man!!! Now I am sad again!!!!

CAN'T REMEMBER, BUT READ BEN KEENEY USED A SADOWSKY OUTBOARD WITH HIS LAKLANDS. ACTUALLY I READ THAT IN BASS PLAYER, THE ONE WITH HIM ON THE FRONT. IT WAS AROUND THE TIME HE LEFT THE ROOTS AND JOIN INCUBUS.
