A look at the Devi Ever's Legend of Fuzz Pedal [Soundclips Added!]

Well I wasn't really a Devi Ever fan because of the certain taste I have with pedals. Her products are really harsh and a few I can find almost annoying. But once I saw this one with the Zelda-themed case..yeah it was a must-have. :D

It's pretty easy to use...two knobs. One for volume and one for the control. The control knob is almost like a drive knob but there's something else to it that I can't put my finger on... Oh yeah...and Devi Ever also wraps her PCB boards in tape to hide the components....I find that kind of silly...If I really wanted to know..come on ;)

The pedal definitely can get you those NES/Atari sounds. I brought it to work and was playing Zelda and the second level Mario theme on it all day hehe...

At the end of the night, I plugged a guitar in it through a full stack and everyone thought I blew the speakers lol. They weren't fans of it but I have a strange liking to it...It won't be on my main pedalboard but perhaps my future mini-board...

I will post soundclips tomorrow night. Stay tuned :D

The EHX BMS couldn't handle the BIT and the phaser was getting pwn'd. The prometheus loved it though ;]
At the end, I noticed a huge difference in the sound of the pedal if I fiddle with the tone knob and/or my 4003/4001 switch. [Basically a bass cut switch]

Awesome, glad to see other people rocking these on bass now.

To answer katri's question, I think that in the lower half of the control knob, it does indeed do the atari sound pretty well. In the upper half of control, it is a very gated, harsh sawtooth fuzz. The only pedal that I think can do the atari sounds better is the glitch computer, with the tracking all the way up (so not that glitchy). The only downside to that one is that you have to play way up at the high end of the D and G strings for it to even be audible (because its two octaves down)

For the record that pedal is called the Devi Ever BIT in case anyone was looking for one. She makes a real intense version called the Bit Mangler which has that and a Vintage Fuzz Master controlled by a joystick...completely unnecessary, completely awesome.

I think there are other reasons for this other than hiding. If you will notice the boards aren't fixed to the enclosure so the tape most likely keeps things from touching any contacts and might add a bit of shielding as well.

Any soundclips pf the Glitch Computer on bass?

The Bit sounds pretty sweet. I'd love to hear some Nintendo music played on bass through it.
