I really dig this bass (my M5 24) and am wondering if there is any reason for a move to a NYC - specifically the one that Maurilio has for sale here.

I dig my Sadowsky M5 24... is there any reason to ugrade to a NYC?

If you're unhappy with the weight of your instrument, that may be reason to upgrade, but I doubt that's the case. If the bass is right for you, keep it and enjoy it. However, you may just want another Sadowsky that is more customized to your tastes. Right now I am unable to afford any Sadowsky, so even a Metro would keep me happy for a very long time.
Are you looking for a reason to get the NYC? At the end of the day get the NYC and if you like it keep it or better yet keep both, but after getting it and you still feel like you only need one then just put one up on the classifieds.

The two main reasons I went with a NYC model instead of a Metro is one, the weight. I am so used to weight of '88 Sadowsky' I did not want a bass that was heavier. Second, wanted a fretless bass which was not offered with the Metro at the time. And, as a bonus I was able to have the neck shaped to match my other Sadowsky.
I presume that the NYC Sadowskys are lighter than the Metro line ? Even in that case the Metro line in my opinion is extremely light. I play a Musicman Stingray and upon trying an M5-24 I was amazed at how light it was.
Two basses from the same brand may feel and sound quite different. If you dig your current bass, why would you want to get rid or it for something that you might not dig?
If you dig what you have, why change! The NYC's are quite lightweight, and have a few other goodies like graphite reinforced necks, etc. However, the tone is very similar.
That one Maurilio is selling is a great deal, and would sound a bit different from your Metro due to the Nordtrand Big Splits.
Unless you want a crazy figured top, custom colour or weird PU config, IMO there is no reason to buy a NYC. I have had both and the Metro is as good quality wise as a NYC.

+1 here...I have owned both and IMHO, the weight is a very minor issue. Similarly outfitted NYC and Metro basses do have differences in weight. But, they are minor, IHMO. Especially if you are talking about a 24 fret because the body has deeper cutaways..thus, lighter anyway. As KJung mentioned, the graphite reinforced neck might be a big issue for you. For some, it is not.
Tonally, they will sound very similar. Assuming, you get the same wood combinations.
