There's a lot of OLD threads that have been dead for years, and I wanted to see how many of you all STILL have your 80's and early 90's CHARVEL basses.

PLEASE, NO JACKSONS, as I also Have a Jackson, but I want this thread to contain CHARVEL's ONLY..

hey Tim, I had a 2B many years ago, and this one came around for the right price, so I figured a blast from the past was in order.... I never thought the thing was gonna be as heavy as a T-40, or my TBX, so it is just a another piece of J/C history to me, and a nice conversation piece...

TIME to play some YNGWIE!!!

I had 4 Charvel Custom basses made for me by Wayne Charvel himself back in the mid '70's. The first one was made in the San Dimas, CA factory and was a Walnut P/J which was later sold to John Entwistle. The next three were made in the Redlands, CA factory. One was a Zebrawood P/J, a Koa P/J and a Maple P/J. All of these basses were really well made and they all sounded great and played very well but were a bit on the heavy side to put it mildly. I also had Wayne build me another bass in '95 in his new Wayne guitars factory in Paradise, CA it was an Ash "P" body/Maple top with jazz pickups and had a very nice attack in the highs but was more or less an experiment and turned out well but not my cup of tea so I sold it to session player Tim Landers who really liked the way it played and added it to his recording stable. My Charvels were definitely not "Pointy" and were more or less Fender shaped. Really sorry that I don't have any pictures of them because they were quite attractive.
