21 frets, new N3 (nedimiun?) pickups and the preamp sports a passive switch with a tone control. There is also a 5 string version of the jazz wich pic i cant find.

Man, that 5'r is killer.

Literally the exact bass I would design if I could have a sig Fender.

Any word on pricing and availability?

I am sure they will be pricey due to the Fender price increase of last year.

My guess is $1700, because of the blocks.

BOOOOOOOOO! They changed the P bridge pickup from that cool humbucker/double J to a single J. I strongly disapprove.

Both P and J 4 stringers have a street price of 1479 so IME that would be like 1500$ on the US. The 5 stringer price hasnt been disclosed yet over here.

Yep, but fender is cloning Sadowsky (I bet it must have felt awesome to copy those who copied you on the first place), so if you want one of those with a humbucker you'd have to call Roger.

Why can't Fender make an American STANDARD P/J bass?! I see nothing but signatures, deluxes, and some MIM models that have P/J pickups...bugs the hell out of me!

The only reason I was interested in the American Deluxe line was because I could get a Precision with a huge humbucker.

They lost one potential customer here!

It's worth it if that's what it took to make the Jazz body look like a Jazz body....the previous ones never looked quite right to me. I do have to agree about the Precisions; I like the way they were.

Edit: Having the P/J pickup configuration is what makes it Deluxe. The Standard has "standard" pickup configuration. Go figure.

I see way more standards for sale everywhere than I do deluxe's. That's mirrored by how many I see for sale here on talkbass.

Wish they would have kept the dual bridge pickup...

I actually liked the modernized Jazz look of the 22 fret Deluxe. :hmm:
