My New Spector Euro-4 LX EXOTIC!! **PICS**

When I got an e-mail from my favorite rep this morning, PJ @ Spector, I had no idea that he was going to send me this...

Needless to say, I nearly fell out of my chair. A few e-mails and one phone call later and this bass is mine! Evidently they might start making a few exotic models next year. This is 1 of 5 that was made from a nice piece of Spalted Maple from the USA shop that they sent to the Czech shop. It also has a new finish type that looks and feels like oil/wax but is actually a matte poly finish that doesn't require waxing. 2 of the basses went to the dude from Godsmack, 2 of them went to our favorite dealer in Florida, and now I will have this one on friday.

Go ahead, it's ok to drool.

I can't put my finger on any single thing about Spectors I don't like. The body shape and neck just don't look so great with exotic woods, IMHO. I do love the sound, but not a fan of exotic woods on it.

I personally love exotic woods, and I love Spectors, so I couldn't say no.

This makes 7 Spectors for me.

I think the Spalted sounds smoother. I love the way my JH5 Spalted/Mahogany sounds compared to the JH5 Maple that I have, a lot smoother. I can't wait to hear what the Spalted/Alder combo does. I had to pull the trigger on it, not to mention it was in the shop and I didn't have to wait months to get get it. :hyper:

I'm interested in the new finish as well. It should be a lot easier to maintain but still looks smooth. I didn't need much persuading. It was sold the second I saw it.

When is your 5 supposed to arrive?

I have a call in to see if I can change it to 3 day! Hopefully Friday. If not then, probably next Wednesday. I am interested in the Matte Poly too. I just finished a dresser for my wife and used that and it came out so nice. It almost feels like waxed oil but no pours to collect crud.

That bass looks spectacular. I've got a Euro 4 in the mail right now coming to me. I've only played one spector before and that was a bolt on all maple rebop. The euro I ordered is neck through flamed maple top and has brass bridge and nut. Doesnt look near as fancy as yours, but I'm pretty excited none the less to be joining the spector club. I've been a die hard warwick fan for years now so this was a really spontaneous shift to purchasing my next axe and it not being warwick. Hope I'm pleased.
