My new aluminium hollowbody bass

Finally I complete my new baby.
That's the specs:

Fender japan jazz '62 neck
S.Duncan MM alnico pu wired passive vol/tone
Fender-like bridge
Custom aluminium body

The body was made for me by Penny Custom:it's a asat-like body,made in anticorodal aluminim.

The bass is medium weight (4,3 Kg),the sound is something very different from all the other bass,and it's not simple to explain...think to an hollowbody that has an aggressive tone like a stingray

how did they make the body, do you know? CNC routing? or was it cast?

Ever heard of Veleno? They did something very similar back in the 70's.

I think you should put an aluminum neck on there as well.

veleno made all aluminum instruments which are worth a fortune today.

travis bean and kramer made aluminum necked instruments which are sky rocketing in price.

currently there's a company called electrical guitar company in florida making them for a steal by comparison. all aluminum mostly.

That is really cool, but I'm wondering how does it fair when subjected to changes of temperature? Is it ok?

I love it. Very cool. How's it balance? I know that the aluminum necked basses like the Kramers tended to neck dive, so I think you might have made the right decision going with a tradition a wood neck.

How much did the slab of aluminum that you cut the body from cost you?

Nice work. I agree with the previous comments that that bass is crying out for a graphite neck.
